# Credits and research depth

> How Qoory credits map to research work in the app and Developer API.

Credits measure research work. A direct lookup costs less than a multi-step AI
answer because the latter can classify a question, call several tools, and
synthesize a cited response.

## App credits

Qoory provides 20 free credits per day for trying product search. Paid credit packs and
subscription credits use the same account balance; subscriptions do not create
a second kind of paid credit.

The current app research classes are:

The product shows the applicable cost before or with the research action. Check
the pricing page for current allowances and purchase terms.

## Developer API credits

The Developer API and remote MCP use the same paid and subscription credit
balance. During limited beta, they share a separate allowance of 100 free API
credits per UTC day so API experiments do not consume the app's 20 daily free
search credits. Neither integration surface is publicly available yet.

API endpoint costs are documented as light, standard, or heavy. Rate limits
control request throughput separately from credit cost.

## Why costs vary

Credit cost reflects the expected work and external service cost of the request,
not the number of fields in the final JSON. Cached or unavailable results should
not be interpreted as a guarantee that future calls have a different price.
